On my website you’ll find information that I think will be helpful in answering some of the lifestyle questions you may have as well as informing you about latest trends in nutrition and ways you can obtain optimal health and weight loss.
As you may know, there are a lot of theories and opinions about nutrition; which foods are best, which are unhealthy, which will make you stronger, which will make you younger, which will help you live to be 120- you get the picture! The bottom line is that most people just want to have a better quality of life, especially as they age. Understanding the importance of healthy eating habits and lifestyle changes can help you reach your goal of a better quality of life. Ideally, I would like to be able to catch kids early and help them learn about nutrition and lifestyle changes that will lead them well into their adult years with the tools they need to be healthy throughout life. But whether you are 8 or 82, this web site is designed to give you a resource to accomplish your health goals.
The articles are ones that I feel are helpful and educational. I encourage you to not only read the articles but to continue to learn more on your own. If you have a health concern; do the research and make an educated decision on how you will handle it. Find a doctor that you trust and is open to nutrition as a form of healing and as preventative medicine. In addition to articles, you will find Monthly Newsletters. I am very passionate about children’s health and early prevention of disease through proper nutrition and lifestyle habits. When researching the best program to effectively teach healthy food choices and lifestyle habits to children and parents, I was very pleased to discover the scientifically proven, clinically based L.E.A.N. Kids program by William Sears, M.D. Dr. Sears is a world renowned pediatrician, nutrition expert, and respected author of over 40 books. Dr. Sears recognized that traditional nutrition and exercise programs were directly targeting children, yet statistics were showing that the number of unhealthy children were continuing to rise. Dr. Sears realized that to effectively impact the health of children, change needs to begin with the parent or care-giver. He developed the L.E.A.N. Kids program and uses it with great success in his own practice today. Dr. Sears’ programs are taught exclusively by L.E.A.N. coaches who meet the criteria and pass the certification exam. I am pleased to be a certified coach and able to offer the programs to my clients seeking a better quality of life for their children and themselves. www.drsearslean.com In addition to that program, I have had great success with the fun, interactive Nutrition Detectives™ created by Dr. Katz. This 1 hour class is taught to children who are elementary school age. Healthy lifestyle changes can take place at any age. Most of us reach a certain age and re-evaluate our choices and the consequences of the choices we've made. The good news is that whenever you start to make the changes, you will certainly see and feel the benefits! My individual lifestyle consultations for adults is focused on getting you back on track to live a healthier, happier life. Using bio-feedback, you willl learn what is going on inside your body, not just what you see on the outside. Knowing the medical consequences of poor choices makes it easier to make changes. It's really not as hard as you may think and the benefits are too many to name. Group classes are so much fun with the Prime-Time Health program created by Dr. Sears from his best selling book of the same name. I have never been more impressed with a healthy aging program as this one. Participants of all knowledge levels have come away with an in depth understanding of their role in healthy aging and prevention of disease. These classes have limited seating, so be sure to book your space ahead of time.
